The Challenge
We were tasked with designing experiences that propelled students and teachers to be curious, brave, critical makers in the classroom — all within the constraints of a public-school budget.
The Approach
We transformed humble materials into appealing, narrative-based engagements, then wrapped them in world-class professional development so the teachers delivering them felt fully capable.
The Process
Moved each product through sketching, woodshop prototyping, and classroom testing with actual sixth graders.
Prioritized educator needs while designing the student-facing curriculum.
Expanded the work into teaching residencies and bioengineering programs for girls.
The Outcome
Students engaged with the material like never before, and teachers emerged confident applying this new flavor of curriculum.
Our social presence grew 400%, and the quality of the work grew the studio into a consortium of schools seeking our consulting.
